Social Enterprises

The project runs several small social enterprises . We feel this is a great way of helping project members to have genuine positive roles in their local community while raising the profile of learning dis(abilities). It provides really good work like opportunities. Project members enjoy learning new skills and interacting with customers in a professional way.

The proceeds from the different things we sell go into the running costs and resourcing of the individual social enterprises.

Bespoke Green Woodworking
Project members love building and creating! Compost toilets, walking sticks, bean poles raised beds or pergolas!

If you have a project in mind no matter how big or small, Perlins Community Project might be able to help!

All wood is locally sourced. We support local trades such as sawmills who use UK grown timber and woodland products such as coppiced Hazel and Sweet Chestnut.

Vegbeds
Through our contact with a local food growing group WINACC we designed and made some vegetable planters for Winchester train station. They were such a success we were commissioned to build some more by River cottage canteen! Since then demand has grown and Vegbeds was born.

All wood for the planters in untreated locally sourced Larch. Vegbeds are bespoke... no bed is to big or small for us to build.
Perlins Mushrooms Logs
After successfully growing oyster mushrooms on coffee grounds we turned our attention to growing on logs! With the Kind donation of fresh logs from Merritt Tree Specialist project members are soon becoming experts!

If you are interested in purchasing your very own oyster log or wanting to learn how to DIY, please contact george@perlinscommunityproject.co.uk for more information.
